Once upon a time when an airline sold you a ticket to a destination it made sure you got there. Not anymore.
This is a story of a seven hour layover. It's also about giving customers what they want.
A few years ago American, United, Delta, USair, Continetal, stranded us in LAX with a seven hour delay. We decided instead of trying to fill all that time at the airport that we would do something more useful...and tastier.
Every hip food blog and magazine had been writing about chicken and waffles so we decided to grab a cab to the West Coast Mecca of this taste treat - Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.
It was popular. Very popular.
Our guest kept asking for it to be an everyday menu item. So we put it on our every day breakfast menu.
Not enough. Our guest wanted it at dinner too. Finally we relented. Now you can have our delicious Chicken and Waffles with warm maple syrup, pecan butter, and a side of bacon infused collard greens anytime. Now everyone's happy....except for the Los Angeles cabbie.
